i've been in the front of my computer the whole day...reading all about shih tzu dogs...on how to take care of them, proper grooming, how to deal with their attitudes, what to feed them...blah blah blah...(seems that i'm serious about taking care of my 'lil "Patrick"...^_^)
but above anything else...i search for their history...and this is what i found...

Shih Tzu is a dog breed originated in China. It is reported to be the oldest and smallest Tibetan holy dogs. They exist back to at least 17th century or as much as 2000 years from now. Believed to be a cross breed of the Lhasa Apso and Pekingese.

They are characterized by their long, flowing double coats of soft, silky, multi-colored fur; sturdy build; intelligence; and a friendly, stubborn, lively attitude. Have a snout, large eyes, and a palm-like tail.
Can weigh between 9 to 16 pounds, can grow taller as much as 9 to 10 ½ inches, and can live for 13-15 years. They are considered to be snub-nosed (brachycephalic) dogs; very sensitive to high temperatures; classified as toy dog or companion dog and as a hypoallergenic pet.
